Hawaii Island resident Dr. Susan Senft founded Kailua-Kona’s Island Eye Care, Inc. with the goal of providing patients with state-of-the-art technology and quality medical/surgical care. The daughter of a physician, she graduated from George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and served her ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine. She spent a combined fellowship year in pediatric ophthalmology, anterior segment and oculoplastics in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Board Certified ophthalmologist since 1986 offers cataract and refractive surgery to patients through ICLs, Intacs for Keratoconus and Multi-Focal Intraocular lenses using LENSAR femtosecond laser technology directly in her office (the only laser of its type outside of Oahu). She also provides cosmetic procedures such as dermal fillers, botulinum, cosmeceuticals and eyelid surgeries. Additionally she performs stratarmus surgery, glaucoma procedures and provides care for children in addition to adults.
Dr. Senft was selected to serve on the American Academy of Ophthalmology Leadership Development Program and has been an advocate to US Congressional Delegations. She volunteers in international ophthalmic missions with Orbis and See International. She is committed to providing the highest standard of eye care for families in the spirit of Aloha.
